Parker’s Closet was named after Freedom Youth Foundation’s founder’s daughter, Parker. At just 10 years old, Parker dreamed of creating closets full of new clothes where foster youth could shop with dignity and choice.
Â
Today, Parker’s Closet provides a welcoming, empowering boutique-style experience where youth can choose brand new clothing and essentials at no cost, because every child deserves to feel confident and valued.
Each youth shops during a scheduled appointment designed specifically for them. The environment is calm, welcoming, and free from crowds or pressure.
Every item in Parker’s Closet is brand new and completely free. Youth are able to select clothing and shoes that help them feel confident and comfortable.
Caring volunteers are available to assist youth throughout their visit. Caregivers remain on-site and have final approval over all selections.
The experience is intentionally designed to give youth the opportunity to make their own choices, supporting confidence and self-worth.
Youth ages 0-23 who have experienced the Idaho foster care system, including those who have achieved permanency through adoption, guardianship, or formal kinship placement, are eligible for Parker’s Closet.
Each youth is invited to choose the following brand-new items, provided free of charge through the generosity of our donors and sponsors:
Appointment times may vary significantly. We typically anticipate up to an hour for one or two children, and up to 90 minutes if three or more children will be shopping.
