Empower Scholarship

The FYF Empower Scholarship Program, created by the Freedom Youth Foundation (FYF), supports foster, kinship, and adopted youth from the Idaho Foster Care system ages 8–23 in achieving their educational and extracurricular goals. The program offers:

  • Educational & Trade Scholarships for college or trade school.
  • Tutoring Scholarships to support academic success for 1–12 youth.
  • Sports/Engagement Scholarships to encourage participation in structured activities.

College and Trade School

Freedom Youth Foundation is excited to award Educational and Trade Scholarships, providing $10,000 per recipient to support foster youth pursuing higher education or skilled trade programs. Open to high school juniors, seniors, and aged-out foster youth up to age 23, these scholarships help cover tuition, books, tools, and other essential school-related expenses, empowering youth to take meaningful steps toward their future.

Our Tutoring Scholarships support academic success for foster, kinship, and adopted youth in grades 1 through 12. With up to $1,000 per student per school year, these scholarships help fund individualized tutoring services designed to strengthen learning, build confidence, and support long-term educational growth.

Sports and Engagement

The Sports and Engagement Scholarships encourage healthy development and community connection for youth ages 8 to 18 who are involved in sports or structured extracurricular activities. Awards of up to $1,000 per youth per year help cover participation costs and are granted based on engagement points earned through Freedom Youth Foundation events, volunteerism, and community involvement.
