Max and Sophie’s Second Chance follows the journey of two young foster youth as they navigate uncertainty, healing, and ultimately, the joy of finding their forever family. Their story reflects the real-life resilience, courage, and hope that so many foster children carry with them every day. For all of us at Freedom Youth Foundation (FYF), this book holds incredible meaning. We poured not only our time and creativity into its pages, but also our love, our belief that every child deserves a safe and nurturing home, and our ongoing passion for supporting foster youth in tangible, life-changing ways. This project began as FYF Founder Shane Hanson’s dream. In 2025, that dream finally came to life, and we couldn’t be more proud to share it with you. Our hope is that this book becomes both a beacon of encouragement for foster youth and a gentle, educational window into their experiences for readers everywhere.
